Pedregon looks for fast times to continue at Topeka with the Herzog Contracting Corp. Toyota Nitro Funny Car
Tony Pedregon has a big weekend prepared in Topeka, Kan. Pedregon will debut his brand new 2012 Toyota Camry, and Herzog Contracting Corp. will be in the primary role for the first time in the 2012 season. Herzog Contracting Corp. has been a major associate for Pedregon Racing since 2004. The NHRA Dollar General Summer Nationals in Topeka, Kansas is their home race. Herzog expects to have over 250 employees and customers in attendance for their supportof the Pedregon racing teammates.
Last weekend saw many gains for the K-LOVE team. The K-LOVE Radio machine went down the track the first three runs with the fastest time a 4.139 seconds, which yielded a year-best sixth place starting position.

Pedregon goes back to the site of his first win
Houston saw many gains for the Tony Pedregon driven team. The K-LOVE machine hit big on the second day of qualifying. In the third session, Pedregon ran a 4.269 good enough for 14th at the time. The K-LOVE team saved the best for last, however, as Pedregon was able to wheel the car down to the 1000 foot mark at 4.194. That was the third best run of the session earning Pedregon a bonus point; that run also boosted the teams’ standing to 11th out of 20 cars.
On race day, Pedregon drew the Robert Hight, winner of four straight in the series. Although Pedregon had the best reaction time of any funny car driver that session, he was unable to pick the round victory.
The team now looks to Atlanta. Tony Pedregon has a lot of memories at Atlanta. He picked up his first Funny Car victory there in 1996, and also won at the track in 2003 and 2006. Last year, Pedregon used his reaction time skills to defeat Jim Head on a holeshot in the first round.
“We are seeing flashes of performance and that tells me that we are heading the right direction, said Pedregon. “However, we will continue to focus on qualifying better and the rest of it will fall into place.”
