AMERICAN RACING WHEELS AND TONY PEDREGON EXPAND PARTNERSHIP
Brownsburg, Indiana February 4, 2014 - Two-time funny car champion Tony Pedregon and American Racing Wheels have extended their partnership through 2015 to compete in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. The American Racing Custom Wheels nitro funny car will once again debut at the historic Winternationals in Southern California this weekend. The new livery will feature a candy apple red paint scheme with a vintage flavor.
"Our team is better prepared to start the season than we have been in sometime. The relationship with American Racing Wheels and our other partners have placed us in a position that we expect better performance on track as well as providing a great platform to showcase American Racing Wheels to the passionate NHRA audience".
The NHRA Circle K Winternationals will be the first of seven events on the circuit that will feature the American Racing Wheels branding as Primary Sponsor on Pedregon's Toyota.
"American Racing started out by making wheels for drag racing and it's where our heritage and history are in the sport," said American Racing Marketing Director Rhett Sander. "I remember as a kid watching Flaming Frank Pedregon race at Lions Drag Strip on American Racing Wheels so it just seems like a natural progression to team up and continue growing our relationship with Tony".
This season marks Pedregon's 21st year in pro competition. He won the NHRA World Championship in 2003 & 2007 and currently holds 507 round-wins.

AUCTION TO BENEFIT IU SIMON CANCER CENTER RESEARCH RAISES $26,000
Fans and racers at Lucas Oil Raceway this past weekend helped the Andrea Pedregon Charity Foundation "A Spark of Hope" (APCF) raise funds that will benefit the IU Simon Cancer Center's colon and prostate cancer research efforts.
A live auction Sunday evening netted $26,000 for the cause. Bidders won items from team apparel and autographed helmets to car parts and more. Unique items included a custom-built Harley-Davidson powered motorcycle and a once-in-a-lifetime NASCAR Cup racing package. All of the auction items were generously donated by APCF supporters.
One hundred percent of the auction's proceeds will go to the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis for colon and prostate cancer research. APCF has been raising awareness and funds for the cause all year, with more than $20,000 raised earlier through sales of the 2012 NHRA Yearbook. The foundation will present the donation to the Cancer Center at the end of year.
Founder Andrea Pedregon said, "We are so fortunate to have such generous supporters. I can't thank our donors, volunteers, and of course our bidders enough! This is a great boost for our colon and prostate cancer research fundraising.

The youngest of the Pedregon brothers, both Tony and his brother, Cruz Pedregon, are both past NHRA Funny Car Champions and are also competing for the 2013 Championship.
